Wisely Group proudly joined thousands of Australians in recognising RUOK? Day 2025 is a vital reminder of the importance of connection, mental health awareness, and looking out for one another in our workplaces and communities.
At our Mackay Head Office, we had the privilege of welcoming Former North Queensland Toyota Cowboys player, Jake Granville — better known as “The Breather.” Jake shared his story about staying optimistic, finding positives even in tough times, and most importantly, the power of simply being there for your mates.
One of Jake’s standout messages was that conversations don’t need to be complicated to make an impact. Sometimes asking a simple question like “What did you have for dinner last night?” is enough to break the ice, spark a connection, and open the door for a deeper check-in.
Building Connection Across Our Sites
Across our Wisely sites, teams came together for BBQs, toolbox talks, and open conversations — taking the time to ask, listen, and check in with each other. While Jake couldn’t be everywhere, we recorded his inspiring talk so all of our teams can watch and take away his message of optimism and support.
More Than Just a Day
RUOK? Day isn’t just about wearing yellow shirts, raising flags, or sharing cupcakes. It’s about building a strong workplace culture where conversations are safe, people feel supported, and where asking “Are you OK?” is something we all feel confident doing — not just on RUOK? Day, but every day.
As a locally owned company with more than 30 years of experience in the mining and resources industry, Wisely understands the importance of looking after our people. Together, we can make a difference in supporting mental health and wellbeing across our workforce.
