Wisely is an Australian-owned company based in Mackay, delivering quality assured asset management services for multinational clients across Australia.
We’ve been a preferred partner of Australia’s resource and industrial landscape for more than 30 years, delivering maintenance, engineering, construction and professional services across resource, ports, infrastructure, energy and defence sectors.
We’re known for our practical expertise, consistent performance and strong local partnerships. Our clients rely on us because we do what we say we’ll do – with integrity, accountability and care for the people we work with.
From shutdowns to project delivery, field maintenance to professional services, we’ve built a business around doing things properly – and doing them with people we trust.
- Our Story
Wisely was founded in 1994 by Bob Wisely, a Mackay local with deep industry roots and a practical approach to solving problems. What started as a small operation has grown into a major leading service provider with a significant workforce across Australia.
Our growth has always been grounded in people. We’ve invested in developing skilled teams, building lasting partnerships and earning the trust of some of the biggest business in Australian industry.
Today, our work spans major shutdowns and outages, long-term maintenance contracts, projects and technical consulting across the entire Resource sector.

Bob Wisely
Chairman
Bob Wisely founded the Wisely Group in Mackay in June 1994 with a clear and enduring vision: to build a business that supports people, communities, and industries for the long term. Under Bob’s leadership, the business has evolved from a local operation into a nationally respected provider of asset management, maintenance & engineering services, employing a substantial workforce throughout Australia.
A strong advocate for regional employment, quality service, and safety, Bob has always placed people at the core of the business. His values are reflected in a company culture focused on meaningful relationships, high quality sustainable outcomes, and long-term community impact.
Bob’s mission remains clear: to create generational opportunities through meaningful work to a high standard underpinned by a quality assured resilient company that stands the test of time.

Chris Wright
Non-Executive Director
Chris Wright brings more than 25 years of experience in financial governance and strategic business leadership. A Partner at Brown and Bird Accountants since 1999, Chris is a registered company auditor, CPA Accountant and a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
His expertise spans mining services, primary production, and financial consulting, with a strong focus on regional business sustainability. Chris holds multiple governance roles across Queensland, including Chair of BMA CQ Rescue Ltd, Australian Aeromedical Limited, Whitsunday Anglican School Limited, and Catchment Solutions Pty Ltd. He is also a Director of Reef Catchments Limited and several privately held enterprises.
Chris offers a clear, strategic lens on governance, risk, and financial performance—supporting the Wisely Board with insight and accountability for long-term growth.

Mark O’Driscoll
Non-Executive Director
Mark O’Driscoll brings over four decades of experience in the banking sector, including 29 years in senior leadership with Westpac Banking Corporation. Based in Mackay, Mark spent more than 20 years as Relationship Director for Commercial Business in Central Queensland, managing one of Australia’s most significant commercial portfolios.
He has advised clients across mining services, construction, transport, professional services, and tourism, with significant Large scale Lending exposures. Mark is highly regarded for his expertise in cash flow lending, funding structures, mergers and acquisitions, and debt recovery.
Since joining the Wisely Advisory Board in 2020, Mark has provided Balanced commercial insight, risk-based thinking, and practical strategies to support the company’s sustained financial health and expansion.

Brett Johnson
Non-Executive Director
Brett Johnson is a senior legal advisor with over 36 years of experience in commercial, property, and mining law. After beginning his legal career in Brisbane, Brett moved to Mackay in 1994 and joined Wallace & Wallace Lawyers, where he served as Managing Partner for more than 14 years.
Now semi-retired and consulting independently, Brett continues to advise Tier 1 mining clients and other major businesses on corporate structuring, succession planning, and complex transactions. His deep industry knowledge, particularly in mining and property law, enhances the Board’s strategic capability and legal oversight.
Brett’s contributions to Wisely are marked by clarity, commerciality, and an enduring commitment to ethical business practice.

Danny Wisely
Chief Executive Officer
Danny Wisely is an experienced executive with over 23 years across multiple industrial sectors, including mining, infrastructure, and maintenance services. Having worked with Wisely Group for more than 15 years, Danny brings a deep, practical understanding of the industries in which the company operates.
Danny has progressed through various roles within the business, earning a reputation for hands-on leadership, operational insight, and a commitment to quality service delivery. His strategic vision, paired with strong industry relationships and a passion for people, positions him to lead Wisely into its next chapter of sustainable growth.
As CEO, Danny is focused on driving innovation, maintaining a people-first culture, and ensuring Wisely continues to deliver reliable, long-term value to its clients and communities.
