Blackwater Mine is home to the largest dragline fleet in the Southern Hemisphere with seven operating draglines.
Wisely was engaged by BMA Blackwater Mine to undertake the complete refurbishment of dragline cable reeler attachments, restoring critical components to support reliable dragline operations.
The works were completed in‑house by Wisely’s workshop team and involved full structural restoration, replacement
and alignment of bearing assemblies, and refurbishment of all hydraulic components to return the attachments to
optimal performance.
Each unit underwent detailed inspection, precision machining, fabrication repairs, and quality‑controlled reassembly to ensure compliance with BMA’s engineering and safety standards.
The refurbished reelers were delivered back to site fully functional, providing a durable, efficient, and fit‑for‑purpose solution that extends equipment service life and supports ongoing operational productivity at Blackwater Mine.
