The Abbot Point terminal, located on the coast of North Queensland, is the most northerly deepwater coal port in Australia. It plays a vital role in the coal export industry and requires ongoing investment in safety-critical infrastructure.
Wisely is executing a full replacement of the Bund 1 fire main pipeline. This includes the following services:
- Installation of nearly 3000 linear metres of above-ground galvanised and painted 150 mm DN Ring main system with tie-in points to the existing underground piping north and south ends
- Installation of fire hydrants and associated valves connected to the fire water main pipeline, as per AS 2419.2 and AS2419.1
- Installation of wash bays via ring take-offs from the fire water ring main
- Grout filling of the existing Bund 1.
Wisely’s execution of this project will provide reliable protection for one of the region’s most important export terminals, ensuring it continues to operate safely and efficiently into the future.
