As one of the largest coal export ports in the world, the Port of Hay Point is a vital part of the social and economic fabric of both Mackay and Queensland.
Wisely was engaged by North Queensland Bulk Ports (NQBP) at the Half Tide Tug Harbour to fabricate and install aluminium marine wharf gangways and handrails as part of ongoing harbour infrastructure upgrades.
The works were completed in‑house by Wisely’s workshop and site teams, delivering lightweight, corrosion‑resistant aluminium structures engineered to withstand the harsh marine environment and daily operational demands of tug and marine service crews.
Custom fabrication ensured precise fitment to existing wharf interfaces, while installation was executed efficiently to minimise disruption to harbour activities.
The completed gangways and handrails provide a durable, safe, and fit‑for‑purpose access solution that enhances operational safety and usability across the Half Tide Tug Harbour.
