Hail Creek Mine, operated by Glencore in the Bowen Basin, is a large open‑cut operation producing metallurgical and
thermal coal using truck‑and‑shovel methods.
Portable lighting plants play a critical role in maintaining safe visibility during nightshift operations, shutdown work, and low‑light conditions across the mine.
Wisely was engaged to complete structural and mechanical repairs on Lighting Plant LT0486 to restore its reliability and ensure compliance with site safety requirements.
Structural works included repairs to the telescopic mast, slew frame, skid bases, and tow points. Mechanical repairs were carried out on the electrical boxes, tilt hydraulic systems, engine mounts, hosing, and exhaust components.
All repairs were completed to operational and OEM standards, with thorough inspection and testing to confirm safe, dependable operation.
The completed works returned the lighting plant to service‑ready condition, supporting ongoing night operations and maintaining safe working environments across Hail Creek Mine.
