As one of the largest coal export ports in the world, the Port of Hay Point is a vital part of the social and economic fabric of both Mackay and Queensland.
Wisely was engaged by North Queensland Bulk Ports (NQBP) to fabricate and install a new marine cyclone wharf upgrade truss at the Half Tide Tug Harbour.
The project was delivered in‑house by Wisely’s workshop and site teams, ensuring precise fabrication, stringent quality control, and seamless coordination from manufacture through to installation in the challenging marine environment.
The upgraded truss was designed and constructed to improve structural resilience and operational reliability during severe weather events, while meeting NQBP’s strict marine safety and durability requirements.
Through efficient planning and disciplined execution, the installation was completed with minimal disruption to harbour activities, delivering a robust and fit‑for‑purpose upgrade solution for the Half Tide Tug Harbour.
