Hail Creek Mine, operated by Glencore in the Bowen Basin, is a large open‑cut operation producing metallurgical and
thermal coal using truck‑and‑shovel methods.
Support equipment like the Cat 444E backhoe plays an important role in day‑to‑day site activities, assisting with small excavation, drainage, clean‑ups and maintenance tasks where larger machinery cannot access.
Wisely was engaged by Hail Creek Mine to complete critical field repairs on the LD407 Cat 444E backhoe, ensuring
the machine could safely return to service and support ongoing site operations.
The works were carried out by Wisely’s Workshop team and included replacement of the stick extension cylinder, renewal of the main bucket arm bushes and pins, and rectification of minor cab electrical faults.
All repairs were completed to OEM standards, with components precisely fitted and tested to restore full functionality and structural integrity.
The completed works delivered a reliable, fit‑for‑purpose repair outcome that improved equipment performance and supported operational continuity at Hail Creek Mine.
