Wisely was engaged by Stanmore Resources to deliver a tightly scheduled Coal Handling and Preparation Plant (CHPP) shutdown at the South Walker Creek Coal Mine. The project required the coordinated removal, replacement, and commissioning of critical process equipment, along with targeted structural remediation works, all executed within a fixed shutdown window to ensure production continuity.
Operating within an active coal preparation environment, Wisely provided disciplined shutdown planning and execution across multiple work fronts, integrating mechanical, structural, and piping activities while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and schedule certainty.
The scope of work included the removal of the dense medium cyclone, feed chutes, product and reject screens, underpans, and the reject screen discharge chute. Wisely also completed structural remediation works, including the removal of corroded structural members and installation of replacement steel to restore long term structural integrity.
Installation works included a new reject screen discharge chute, new product and reject screens with underpans, and associated piping. Mechanical completion and commissioning were successfully undertaken to return the CHPP to operational readiness within the planned shutdown period.
By leveraging experienced shutdown personnel, proactive work sequencing, and strong onsite coordination, Wisely delivered the project safely and on schedule, supporting Stanmore Resources’ operational objectives and
minimising downtime.
