Peak Downs, Australia’s largest coal mine by reserves, requires continuous investment in asset integrity. Wisely is undertaking important structural remediation tasks across the site, including the Coal Handling and Processing Plant (CHPP), Train Load Out (TLO), Run of Mine (ROM) facilities, workshops and associated infrastructure.
Within this remit, Wisely’s permanent rostered crews provide the following services:
- Asset integrity scoping
- Structural remediation
- Quality assurance processes
- Maintenance tasks.
The dedicated team comprises up to 20 skilled personnel, including boilermakers, fitters, riggers, welders and electricians. Additional expertise is provided in supervision, planning, scaffolding, blasting and painting, as well as both onsite and offsite component fabrication.
Wisely also supplies essential equipment such as welding units, blast and paint systems and trucks. Offsite fabrication is supported by Wisely’s Mackay workshop, reducing risk, cost and time associated with processing steel for installation.
By embedding an expert workforce and integrating workshop support, Wisely is improving the safety, efficiency and cost-effectiveness of operations at Peak Downs Mine.
